RolePlayGateway?

Looking for an roleplay partner for a few of the ideas that are swimming around in my head right now--don't worry the topic doesn't mean they're all in one story hehe

First idea:

This is sword and sorcery style fantasy game. The setting is largely split between the floating islands that serve as the home cities for civilized and magically fluent elf-like race. The island nation floats peacefully above the dangerous, monster filled jungle called the Wylds populated with what the elves derogatorily call "the wyldlings" which are a race of people that lead a largely nomadic lifestyle in the savage land.

The elves (I never did come up with a new rational name for them) are very willowy and (usually) pale with long hair that can naturally exist in every hue of the rainbow. Most of the race resides in the upper islands which remains blind to the atrocities that are carried out to maintain their perfect civilization. Even the most inept elf can conjure up a bit of magic even if it's only a sparkling light show. As children they are told horror stories about the Wylds and the people who live in such a horrible place. As they grow older and pursue scholarily studies they learn that the best kindness that can be shown to the wyldlings is to except them into their cities and that is why tamed wyldlings are allowed to serve as maids, cooks, and the mining in the lower islands.

The wyldlings (though that is not what they call themselves) live in many tribes which are usually separated by the totem animal (For instance, there are wolf wyldlings, large cat wyldlings, bear, even crocodile). Most wyldlings that will be encountered will be largely humanoid with features from the totem animal (scaley skin, fangs, etc.) but all are more physically powerful than any elf could hope to be. They're reliant, agile, and strong (though again, the balance of these traits would differ between different tribes. The bears are stronger than the cats but the cats are more agile). Wyldlings are at one with their environment which isn't to say it is less dangerous but they are equipped for the dangers. Shamans of the different tribes can even turn into their totem animals. Socially, their packs are very animalistic. The leader of the tribe is always the most dominant and if not he will shortly be replaced. They are not the savage creatures the elves see them to be but live on an entirely different code of honor and ethics.

The following would be unable for characters, at least until well into the story:
There is at least one more race, the creatures that live in the Deep. They are almost never seen and even the wyldlings avoid the cave mouths that lead into their domains. They are even more animalistic than the wyldlings (rather than exhibiting traits of the animals, they are mostly animal. A drider like race would be a good example). Additionally they are savage and cruel beyond just the law of the jungle.
Of course there can also be an aquatic race but not even the elves can see the ocean at the end of the Wylds so the point is moot for now. The only race that no longer exists is avian...or does it? dum DUM DUMMMMMM

The story for this world is one of two. Either it is the original war between the wyldlings and the elves where the last of the wyldlings strength was demolished and they were scattered into tribes across the wylds or the story of the elvish lady-in-waiting being accidentally kidnapped instead of her princess and she must make peace with the tribe that steals her away and eventually they come to discover the origins of why the world is the way it is (the separate races, the floating islands and all that jazz).

I tend to prefer to play female characters, not to say that I won't be playing male characters it's just that my main character tends to be female. I see the kidnapped elf leading to a difficult romance and would be better suited for one-on-one role play while the war can be adapted to multiple players the only trouble is we know the wyldlings will lose ultimately. Also I'm a sucker for forbidden romance. So shoot me :)

Second Proposal:

This is a much more dystopian future/end of the world story. The short version is that in 2012 there was a virus that was adapted to a successful cure for cancer but while still in testing the virus spread like a plague. Everyone became healthy and it was great for about a week before the elderly started to drop dead followed by the very young. Within a year everyone who was below 10 or above 45 is dead. There was a nine-year-old that survived the plague but ended up being accidentally killed by obsessive adults who had lost their children. 10 and 45 is the absolute cutoff limit, very little of the surviving population is even with a few years of the limit and most of the population and the power rests with the twenty-somethings. But that wasn't the only trouble with the "cure". Now, not only to people not get sick but they do not die. Almost immediately everyone is sterilized for the "good of the future". Because people cannot die, war is abandoned--for now. Countries have underground bunkers where they test on prisoners trying to find a way to kill them but, short of completely destroying the brain, they continue to live. The test subjects are driven to the savage limits of sanity under torture which renders them monstrous and misshapen (starved, acid burns, missing limbs, ripped off skin, etc). The tests break out and enact their revenge on the scientists before busting out of the facilities themselves. They are driven by rage and bloodlust, occasionally eating their victims or each other but often they forget because they cannot die even from starvation. They viciously attack the citizens doing unspeakable acts to them until they suffer the same fate as their attackers. The monsters became known as the Ravaged due to their appearance and surviving citizens quickly voted on the use of nuclear weapons to fight them off. Only trouble is those that weren't completely disintegrated are now radioactive and most of the world is now a wasteland (remote regions may still have wildlife and forests but those are just rumors). Society walls itself into large cities that become sanctuaries from the ravaged infested wasteland outside of their walls. Bored by peace, technology is booming and quality of life is high--if one can forget what got them there.

Now, while this was happening there was another secret experiment being manned by the top scientists of the world gone rogue. When the population was sterilized, they went to work trying to build a future, a new race of humans that was immune to the plague that could one day repopulate the world. They called themselves the Eden Group and they succeeded in growing humans in test-tube laboratory. The first living success was a boy they named Adam, the second was another boy named Cain, the third was a girl named Eve...all the surviving children age so it did not seem that they carry the plague, they think, but before further testing could be established the Eden Group was discovered and attacked. They scattered and any surviving individual doesn't know whether they are the last or not.

The story is more of a one-on-one where I will at least be playing Eve who will be in her late teens and on her own having lost the scientist who saved her from the attack. There could be additional children from the experiment and they'll stick with the biblical name theme (for instance, I've thought of little Lily who was likely the youngest and would be traveling with scientists or some of her surviving lab mates). Adam is the oldest and I like the idea that being the first "success" he has the most wrong with him while the others range from early twenties to about ten. It's not to say the youngest doesn't have problems as they were all their own experiments. They've got to find a way to survive whether that means hiding in an immortal society or finding each other and trying to save humanity. Of course you don't have to play one of the children, you could play a scientist from the Eden Group or even a member of the new society that discovers them. The story is ripe with intrigue and chances to be stabbed in the back--and don't forget the immortal zombie killin!

Finally, (wow, I wonder if anyone has actually read this much) 3rd story idea:

I have to give credit to Kelley Armstrong and LJ Smith for Gathering Darkness and Dark Vision series for the inspiration of this. As this is not something I have considered turning into a book there are lot of variables that remain undetermined but this is why I believe it would be a more successful group rp. (I do like to collaborate the GMing). The premise is rather simple, there is a group of teens living at a boarding school/home for troubled youth/small community who start to discover that there was more than milk in their cheerios and they start to develop special powers. This can be gene augmentation or something that was already in their genes and that is why they will choosen. Each teen will develop powers akin to whatever they were infected with. For example one girl might not actually be a demon but she had enough demon blood to manipulate that she is developing succubus like powers. Also keep in mind that they were chosen for this specific experiment so something in their nature will tie back to the creature chosen. They will not come out of the gate with all the power they will get and they will also have complications dependent on their creature. Some of these complications can be quite severe. Will they band together and overthrow those manipulating them? Then what? Or will they play along and fulfill their purpose to those who created them? Will they even be able to get along enough to be unified in this?

I'm excited about this one as a group project. I'm particularly hoping that people bring something unique to the table. (I was thinking of one character who was a kelpie, for instance) Everyone expects the vampire or the werewolf, at least bring a werebear to the table or something?

About me as a role player

Just real quick because I've already written enough..

I'm not a creativity nazi, but I expect at least a real effort of creativity and sentence structure to be put forth. I'm largely laid-back but, seriously? Try and give me some substance to work off of. But on that note, I make occasional typos. I roleplay to relax note to write a doctorate.

I would prefer anyone I play with to be over 18. Now that I've reached 24, I start to worry about corrupting the youth and I don't want to hold back on the violence or suggestive language or any other PG13ness.

I'm a friggin' roleplaying addict, but I am also a college student with a husband and a daughter. Sometimes I don't have time to post but keep me interested and I'll be foaming at the mouth to get at my computer again. Try and guilt me for being busy that evening and I'll be increasingly less interested. Guilt trips do work on me but they also really start to piss me off.

I can't think of any real limits I have because I don't like limiting people but if you have them just be sure I know so I don't overstep :)

I like romance. I'm used to playing one-on-one rp style with men and that's the natural avenue. But don't mistake me for a fluffy romance girl. Having something your character loves just gives you another option for messing with them. I also get bored of perfect romances. While they do have their uses and are perfect for some of my mild mannered, sweet tempered characters--they don't always fit and often conflict leads to more story. But it can't always be conflict either, good times gives your character motivation through the bad times.

Finally, I'm new to the site. I like IM roleplaying because it's quicker and it's been my main source of RP for the past four years (gotta love that instant gratification) but I also like the idea of board rping (especially for the boarding school group roleplay) But as I am new, I'm going to need the help of my shiney new roleplaying partners to get that board set up :)

And I don't think I am allowed to PM yet so that'll have to wait. If you're interested just reply to this thread please and thank you!!

I hope someone interested..

I need a rp injection..
